Tune in to ABC (KTRK-TV Channel 13 in Houston) this evening, March 23rd, and tomorrow evening, March 24th, at 5:30pm to catch “World News with Charles Gibson” airing from Houston.

Houstonist joined the Harris County Democratic Party and the Seafarers International Union at the union's downtown headquarters to watch the inauguration of our nation's 44th President.

Did you know Barack Obama's official presidential portrait was the first one ever to be shot with a digital camera? Today marks the start of a new era, in more ways than one, and to celebrate, Houstonist will be live-blogging the inaugural later this morning. It's a the first Web 2.0 presidency, after all. Stay tuned.

A double shot for today's Daily-ist. Head over to the Rothko Chapel for a gospel musical performance honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., then cruise by Pictures Plus Gallery to see Houston sculptor David Addicks unveil the newest addition to his Presidential head sculptures, that of Barack Obama, who tomorrow will be inaugurated as our country's 44th President.

Yesterday was the second of the Super Tuesdays for this Presidential Election year and included primary elections in Ohio, Rhode Island, Texas and Vermont. Houstonist could careless about who wins. We're just excited to see the record turnout at the polls. We all win when that happens. Congratulations, Houston, and all you Texans that don't live in our kickass town.

>> There are some big changes coming to Memorial Park: Houston's most popular park with a running trail and a burger joint is slated to get more improved features to help you sweat to the oldies. According to ABC13, Mayor Bill White's improvement plan will include a bridge across Memorial Parkway for cyclists and pedestrians, extended running trails, an improved tennis facility and a new shower facility for you dirty folks.
