We were pretty disappointed to hear that there will be no embarrassing or silly mayoral bet on the Rockets/Lakers playoff series, but we're proud that it's through no fault of our own. Mayor White made an offer that we definitely wouldn't refuse: breakfast tamales from Villa Arcos, lunch at Frenchy's and, very appropriately, dinner at Yao's. Houston rapper Pimp C was found dead this morning in his hotel room on LA's Sunset Strip. Pimp C had performed with Too Short on Saturday evening at the House of Blues. Trammell Crow, Co. has announced that their project at the former HISD Headquarters at 3830 Richmond Ave. will start immediately, just short of a year after the demolition. The project, called "Greenway Commons," includes a 164,000 square foot Costco to be topped with an LA Fitness health club.
