OK, so this is weird: A 12-year-old girl has been suspended for making up a hit list containing a bunch of made-up names (and one real one, but we'll get to that in a minute). The whole thing started when a fellow Pin Oak Middle School student reported seeing the girl with the list on a school bus Friday. The girl was immediately suspended, and then officials started checking the list out.
That's where things get kinda odd: HISD officials initially said they suspected some of the names on the list were made up, and finally they concluded that only one name was real (it's not clear how many names were on the list). "She even indicated during our course of the conversations with her that some of the names she made up. So we don't know what to make of it yet, but we always try to take those kinds of things seriously," HISD spokesman Terry Abbott told KTRK. All we can say is, this girl's imaginary friends had better watch their backs.
Seriously, there's no indication that the girl meant to hurt anyone, but parents told Channel 13 that it's impossible to be too careful. "Considering the recent rash of violence in schools, you can never be sure," parent Leigh Williams said. "If the student has a problem, they need to be removed from campus." The girl has been suspended for three days and won't be allowed to ride the bus anymore.

How I miss the days of school officials using common sense.
did the list say people (imaginary or not) i'd like to whack?
and if it really was a hit-list, having her suspended and banned from the bus probably wasn't a good idea for the officials...heh
