Like Your Bike
Houstonist, for one, always liked our bike — despite the skinned knees — because we had a cool helmet. Rumors that it had a picture of Mickey Mouse are unsubstantiated, but should you be lucky enough to run across Houstonist on Friday, you can check it out, since we'll be breaking it out of storage for National Bike to Work Day.
The nationwide effort spearheaded by the League of American Bicyclists comes at the culmination of the month of May, which we're betting you didn't know is actually National Bike Month. While according to the 2000 census, less than 1 in every 77 Texans rode his or her bike to work, this article in the Chronicle might change that: it touts not just the environment-friendly nature of the idea but the calorie burning and wildlife-seeing opportunities as well.
Pretty soon, obviously, you'll be skinny and have lots of woodland creatures for friends — like Cinderella!
So ride your bike to work, guys. You never know where you might meet Prince Charming. Or at least some friendly anthropomorphic mice.
What: National Bike To Work Day
When: Friday, May 19

Among the massive list of regrets in my experiences with my last job, not riding my bike to work along the Westbark Bike Path is a big one.
Haha! I ride my bike to work everyday, except Fridays, that's when I haul home the groceries...
sure, great idea, would love to do it...but WHERE are you supposed to park your bike???? Houston doesn't provide any bike parking areas!!!
